ISLAMABAD: Senator Raza Rabbani has said that management of Karachi
Electric Supply Company (KESC) has failed to abide by the provisions of
privatisation accord, therefore NEPRA should take over its control.
Senator
Raza Rabbani during the debate in senate session Friday said he had
opposed privatisation of KESC. Handing over vital state entities to
foreign entrepreneurs was a threat to national security and Karachi was
passing such situation, he added. KESC management was pursing anti
people and anti labourers policies, he accused.
He went on to
say Managing Director (MD) of any company was not above Pakistani laws.
MD KESC does not come even on the call of chief minister Sindh,
governor Sindh and parliamentary committees, he pointed out.
Acting
chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali referred the matter of chairman
NEPRA and KESC to senate standing committee on water and power. Online
