Pakistan submits its stance over KG dam in WB Court

Islamabad: Pakistan on Saturday has filed its stance over controversial Kishanganga Dam in the World Bank’s arbitration court.

Pakistan raised major objection on the project that India cannot divert the route of the River Neelum as India constructed Krishan Ganga dam which would resulted 15 % of its water share and that was violation of Indus Water Treaty between the two countries.
Pakistan accused that by diverting the water of River Neelum it could affect Nilam valley as well as the Pakistan’s Neelum-Jehlum hydro project.
It is expected India would submit its stance over Pakistan’s objection in four month after that the court would give its verdict.
Pakistan is of the opinion that the project is a violation of the Indus Water Treaty which regulates the use of the five eastern rivers passing through the territories of the two neighbors. Online
