Nawaz Sharif says PML-N to become part of grand alliance to rid present order

Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday welcomed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s decision to join the opposition and said the formation of a grand opposition alliance was necessary to “rid the country of the current government”, adding that no hurdle would be allowed to become in the way of ridding the present order.

Talking to media persons after chaining the organizational meeting of the party’s Balochistan chapter at his Model Town residence, he said that the his party has some reservations from some parties and some parties from PML-N, adding that the MQM has joined the opposition benches and PML-N would welcome the opposition colleges for the removal of the present order which has failed to solve the problems of the masses.
He said that the compensation of the grievances of the Balochistan masses is vital, adding that the killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti should be punished, adding that in the result of the punishment of responsible Bugti killing the grievances of Baloch masses would be decreased.
He said that the Balochistan like situation is not exist in any other province of the country, adding that Newab Akbar Bugti was national leader and was killed in the military operation and military operation further intensified the situation of Balochistan.
He said that the action against the persons responsible for killing of Akbar Bugti should be taken, adding that Musharraf attacked the judiciary for the fulfillment of personal interests.
He said that justice should be served to the people of Balochistan and missing person’s case should be addressed immediately, adding that the fact should be known that who was involved in the disappearance of the people from Balochistan, adding that the justice with the people of Balochistan would be done when the responsible of Bugti killing would be brought in the court of justice.
He said that the dictators weaken the political parties for fulfillment of their vested interests, adding that the dictators did not know the fact that the political parties are the vital assets of the country.
Nawaz Sharif said unprincipled politics had led Pakistan into troubled waters, that is why it was important to rid the country of the present government, adding that the days of pre-1999 politics have gone.
He said that if the government was solving the problems of the masses than he would not have been needed to talk about these things, adding that PP disappointed at every step and did not fulfill the promises made with the PML-N.
He said that the government is not interested in solving common man’s problems and now this kind of politics will not be tolerated. He said that three years have passed and still the government has not been able to solve any problems of the masses.
Nawaz said that politics of deception is a gone story now and he is ready to welcome those who want to sit in the opposition.
When asked about Chaudhry Shujaat’s statement on Abbottabad inquiry commission, Nawaz said that now the give and take kind of politics would not work, adding that the written statement had been handed over to Shujaat by someone else
He also added that the rigging in Kashmir polls is evident to everyone and that the aid given for quake victims was used in the elections.
He said in one constituency of the AJK federal government distributed 44.1 million rupees from the Benazir Income Support Programme.
When asked about the drone attacks, he said that the government should not keep the people in dark and bring address all issues openly, adding that the drones fly from Pakistan and land in Pakistan after striking tribal people.
He said that the government is trying to make fool the masses on the issue of drone attacks as government is involved with US for carrying out drone attacks, adding that drones fly from Shamsi airbase and land on the same airbase.
Nawaz Sharif said that 70 million people in Pakistan are living below poverty line, adding that the electricity load shedding has become menace and government says the load shedding would end in 2018, adding that now the problem of gas load shedding has been started.
He said that the present young generation would become old until the menace of electricity would be solved.
He said that in the result of gas load shedding to the CNG stations of Punjab for three days and for two days to Sindh would further increase the problems of the masses.
On another question regarding gas and power outages, Nawaz said the situation was resulting in huge losses to the country’s economy.
He said that the government has asked America to evacuate the Shamsi airbase over the demand of PML-N.
He said that the matters regarding the appointment of new office bearers of Balochistan have been completed and honest and vigilant workers would be nominated at district level.
Answering a question regarding the recent statement of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking Pakistan to withdraw from Kashmir dispute is a wrong political statement, he should not have need to issue such statement, adding that this could further intensify the situation already present between the two countries and could harm the ongoing dialogue process.
Earlier, while addressing a meeting of the Balochistan PML-N Coordination Committees, PML-N chief said that People’s Party government is an obstruction in the transfer of resources to the provinces and added that the provinces were given responsibilities of the seven ministries, but the government has retained it stranglehold over the resources.
He said that Pakistan sustained huge loss due to injustice in the past also and advised learning lesson instead of repeating the mistakes.
He said that the elections of the provinces have been completed and elections of central office bearers of the party would be held soon.
Nawaz said that Pakistan’s prosperity is linked with peace in Balochistan and happy- satisfied people of Balochistan is the top priority of PML-N. SANA
