Afghan transit facility not paying any money to Pak, NA body informed

The meeting of Standing Committee of States and Frontier Regions held in National Assembly. The officials informed the committee that the Afghan transit facility is not providing any economic benefit to Pakistan.
According to the agreement 14 thousand containers would cross the Pak- Afghan border daily and in infrastructure of roads in the areas have already been destroyed in those areas. Mohammad Tariq Khatak chaired the meeting in National Assembly on Saturday.
The committee reviewed the facilities of the former rulers of the states which had been merged in Pakistan and recommended to increase the facilities and would review the constitution about it, a three member committee also has been formed for this purpose, which would be headed by Pervez Khan Advocate.
The Minister of SAFRON Eng, Shokat Ullah said that we want to increase the facilities for the former rulers of the states which had been merged in Pakistan. He said the privileges would be increased after the approval of parliament.
The officials of FATA secretariat also give briefed the committee about the Afghan transit trade facility, that the government of Pakistan would not get even a single penny from this agreement. The infrastructure of the roads has been destroyed.
Daily six to seven thousand containers cross the Torkham border and the number would be increase after this agreement. The roads can bear on weight of 20 tons but the containers have the weight of 80 tons.
NATO forces also used the facility but would not pay anything for the using of infrastructure of roads. The members of committee said that we raised this issue at every forum of Pakistan but still no progress has been made in this regard. SANA
