2 killed, 8 injured in Karachi firing; TV vehicle torched

KARACHI: Firing in Karachi has resulted in killing of 2 persons, with 8 including 2 policemen injured; while a TV channel vehicle was torched at Katti Pehari.

Police has recovered an unidentified corpse from Gutter Baghecha, which has been shifted to hospital, while one person was shot dead near Metro cinema, with a rickshaw driver, Aar s/o Aurangzeb, was also murdered.
Meanwhile tensions in Orangi Town remain intact, with intermittent firing. Unknown persons created a stir of panic in Aligarh Bazaar, forcing closure of businesses.
In another notable incident, unknown miscreants torched a high-roof type vehicle of a Private TV Channel near Katti Pehari, present in the area for TV coverage of police action there.
Following this shameful incident unknown persons opened indiscriminate fire on a minibus, injuring three. Armed miscreants also opened fire on a police mobile near Bismillah Hotel on Friday morning, injuring mobile driver, constable Dilawar and sub-inspector Zaheer Tanoli, while other policemen saved their lives by running for safe cover.
Armed persons also opened indiscriminate firing on Muttihida senior committee members injuring activists Abdul Rashid and Mohsin Amin.
Earlier armed person also resorted to intense firing near Sabzi Mandi, on University Road, causing a severe traffic jam on the road. Online
