Target killers, extortionists asked to leave Karachi: Rehman Malik

KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Tuesday that target killers and extortionists will not be forgiven and that both will be punished equally.

According to the media reports, the minister asked extortionists to leave Karachi for anywhere else.
Target killers and extortionists will not be spared and that both will be punished equally, he said. Interacting with newsmen in Karachi, Malik said action will be taken against the target killers according to set goals.
Ten target killers and eight extortionists have been arrested, he claimed. “I have advised the police to show the faces of arrested target killers to public,” he commented.
He said indiscriminate action would be taken against the miscreants and terrorists across the board in light of the directives of Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
He also appealed to the media to provide leads about the criminal elements and cooperate with the authorities. In response to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s call for the prime minister to resign Malik said that, “Altaf bhai says whatever he pleases at times.”
Malik also said that Rangers and Police will continue their efforts for the security and safety of the people in order to restore peace in Karachi. Online
