President appoints Akhtar Buland as new AGP

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari has appointed Akhtar Baland Rana , the new Auditor General of Pakistan.
He was working in BPS-22 in Audit and Accounts Group.

Reliable sources said that Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani had forwarded a summary to Aiwan-e-Sadr in which it was recommended to appoint Rana on the slot of Auditor General of Pakistan.
The sources told Online that acting Auditor General Anis Marghoob was the potential candidate in the race but he was not selected for the post.
Former Auditor General Tanveer Ali Agha was retired last month as he had completed the tenure of four years . Previously the tenure of AG’s office was five year but it was reduced to four year under 18th amendment. Online
