CDA team to trap aggressive monkeys

ISLAMABAD: An aggressive monkey attack in sector G-6 of the federal Capital leaves seven children injured and is still in Islamabad to make more victims.

The violent monkey family entered the city about a week ago and attacked on citizens at different locations of G-6. "That was worse than any dog I’ve ever seen," said Zeeshan a resident of G-6 adding that I saved myself as entered into a neighbor’s house. The monkey’s first victims were two children of below 15 years who were bitten in the leg while they were playing in the street on Saturday in G-6/2 area near Poly Clinic.
Director Zoo and Wild Life Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah told Online that the wounded children got minor injuries and they are out of danger however the task to catch them was handed over to a trapping team comprising on as per as seventy people including an expert team leader. He added that the team also included shooters who are ordered to shoot them at site if seem violent to the people. He said that trappers and shooters are deployed on different areas of the city where the monkeys can be found or informed by the people if any one saw them.
The director informed that local people create hurdles to catch the monkeys. “The monkeys moved from G-6/2 to towards G-6/3 on Saturday when they saw people gathered and making noise to trap them,” added Syed Sajjad. Moreover, he informed that the authorities also take help of the wild life, environment directorate and more trappers would be called if needed. Online
