US refusal to vacate Shamsi airbase an insult to country, nation: Munawar Hasan

The Jamaat-e- Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the US refusal to vacate the Shamsi airbase was an insult to the country and the nation.

Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque , he said that the Foreign Minister Ahmed Mukhtar had issued a statement that the US had been asked to vacate the Shamsi air base. He said, the ISPR spokesman had gone a step ahead by stating that the Shamsi airbase had been got vacated. However, he said, the US officials denial in this regard was a slap on the rulers’ face.
Syed Munawar Hasan even in the past, the official circles had made certain false claims but the US had promptly exposed the falsehood.
He said it was time that the Pakistan government reviewed its decision to join the US war on terror which had already proved very costly for this country.
He said this had proved that drone attacks were being made with Islamabad’s consent.
The US, he said, was bent on proving Pakistan a terrorist state and Abbotabad like activities were only the US tricks to prove that Mullah Omer and AL-Qaida and Taliban leadership was hiding in this country and if Pakistan was hesitant to act against them, US drones would make direct attacks.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the US refusal to vacate the Shamsi airbase only necessitated implementation of the parliament resolution and pull out from the US war. SANA
