Target killing spree continue, 2 more dead in Karachi

KARACHI: Two people were killed and five others wounded in separate incidents of firing in Karachi on Friday.

According to police, one person was gunned down in Gulshan-e-Iqbal 4. In Landhi Market, 30-year-old Mohsin was killed and four others wounded when unknown gunmen opened fire at them outside Hanfia Akbari Mosque.
Firing triggered fear and panic in the locality. Police also reached the scene after the firing and started investigation.
Funerals of slain ST workers Muhammad Hussain and Lady Latifa Bibi were offered at Farooq Azam Mosque. A large numbers of ST workers attended the funeral.
In Godhra, local Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) leader Shah Faisal was offered at Godhra Chowk. ASWJ leader Orangzeb Faroqui and workers also attended the funeral amid slogans.
It is worth mentioning here that some 646 persons have been gunned down while 842 received injuries from January 01 to June 30, 2011. The ratio of killing and crimes are higher than the last five month. Mostly people gunned down have affiliation with different political parties including PPP, ANP, MQM and Sunni Threek. Online
