Special committee of PAC rejects investigation report about billion rupees property scandal

The Special Committee of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of National Assembly has rejected the investigation report about sales of billions of rupees property of Pakistani embassy in Jakarta (Indonesia), which were ordered by former president General Pervez Musharraf.

The committee said that the person who identified the irregularities and non transparency he was punished for his act and were made OSD to hide the corruption of a general.
The meeting of the committee held in parliament House under the chair of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday.
The committee advised the foreign office to write a letter of condolence to the widow of late deputy head mission Mushtaq Rizvi and also directed to fix the responsible for the scandal.
During the meeting objections on the audit report about sale of billion’s property in pennies were observed.
Major General Mustafa Anwar was ambassador when deal took place, in which property was sold in 13 lakhs and 20 thousand dollars which were bought in 1971 in 31 lakhs and 68 thousands, former deputy head mission Mushtaq Rizvi identified the irregularities and written a letter to foreign office and Musharraf ordered investigations but foreign office representative was not included in the investigation team.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that as the police appoint a SHO to save the police aide in any investigation; same was happened in this investigation to save a general and properties were sold without advertisements and big irregularities were done.
Special committee said that this investigation is a try to give the clean chit to the actually involved persons and committee thrice called general to appear before the committee for his statement but he never appeared.
Committee sated that the person who was identified corruption in the matter he was made OSD for his act against a general and it all did former general Musharraf.
During the proceeding of committee there was exchange of hard sentences between head of investigation committee and former secretary Javed Masood and members of the committee when investigation head failed to answer the satisfactory replies to the members.
Committee stated that NAB was active against politicians why this scandal was sent to NAB and bureaucracy only speak good English instead of delivering to masses of the country, adding that it looks that Musharraf remainings are still afraid from the dictator.
The committee directed PAC secretariat to write a letter to widow of former deputy head mission late Mushataq Rizvi that PAC is ashamed on the treatment of three members committee with her husband and committee directed foreign office to fix the responsible for irregularities in one month and to inform the committee.
