Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has ordered for taking action
against 3 former generals and a bureaucrat for causing loss of Rs 1.82
billion to national kitty due to their alleged involvement in NLC scam.
PAC in its meeting on June, 25 had reviewed audit objections in respect of National Logistic Cell.
Committee
also reviewed the matter about the investment made by NLC authorities
in stock exchange against NLC investment policy and directives of Prime
Minister.
Audit report of Auditor General of Pakistan and Hamid
Hassan report were also reviewed by PAC on April, 10, 2011. The
committee accepted recommendations laid down in Hamid Hassan report.
Secretary planning directed defence secretary to initiate action
against Lt Gen (Retd) Khalid Munir, Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Afzal
Muzaffar, Maj Gen (Rtd) Khalid Zahir Akhtar for violating rules and
regulations and inflicting loss of billion of rupees to national
exchequer.
Secretary cabinet division has also been directed to take action against Saeed ur Rehman former chief finance officer of NLC.
Secretary
also issued directives that all the reports which had been filed by
chairman NAB under NAB ordinance against these officers be also made
part of the investigation. Online
