US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has
telephoned Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari to exchange views on the
Abbottabad operation that killed Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden and its
fallout.
According to The News, Zardari informed Clinton about the reservations
of the Pakistani parliamentarians over US' unilateral raid on May 2. US President Barack Obama had ordered a raid by a small team of US Special Forces, which found bin Laden, who had evaded capture for a decade, in a home in a fortified compound in Abbottabad.
Bin Laden, accused of being behind a number of atrocities, including the attacks on New York and Washington on 11 September 2001, was at the top of the US "most wanted" list.
Clinton and Zardari also agreed upon cooperation in war on terrorism, and to promote US-Pak ties. (ANI)
