Country pride being compromised for dollars: Shahbaz Sharif

LAHORE : Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that the country’s pride is being compromised through Raymond Davis and Abbotabad incidents for the sake of few coins.

Addressing a prize distribution ceremony of students essay writing and speech contest here Sunday Shahbaz said that there is great unrest throughout the country over Abbotabad incident. We are responsible for many mistakes in our 63 year long history but we will undo all these faults and will not embarrass the nation, he said.
Mian Shahbaz questioned how we can defy the orders of our funders when we take dollars to compromise our national pride. Abbotabad incident has forced the nation to think whether it is truly an independent nation, Shehbaz mourned.
Shahbaz appreciated the role of students calling them the ray of hope for the progress and prosperity of the country. He said to articulate after the brilliant accomplishments of the students would be unfair.
He said after the tragic incident of 1971 our forces are again forced to think whether they were truly an independent nation or alive on foreign aid.
He said we have to be united to build the country as we are all responsible for its current predicament.
He said that the nation is being sold for few dollars, adding that when the high ups receive the packets of dollars they become very happy over their act; meanwhile when they are given the letter of demands they intended to refuse these orders but were helpless in front of masters to accept these orders.
He said that if this point could be understood then we would be able to restore the integrity and sovereignty of the country from the foreign masters and would be able to establish a Pakistan based on the aspirations of the Quaid and Iqbal and would also be successful in regaining the lost honor in the committee of nations.
Earlier talking to media after his visit to stock the work at Faiz Pur interchange development project, he said there will be no compromise on the standard of the developmental projects and each and every penny of the public money will be spent in a transparent manner.
Chief Minister said for providing the entertainment facilities to the people of provincial capital, 100 cricket grounds would be established. SANA
