Search for getaway car used in Bhatti murder underway


Search for the car used in the murder of Federal Minority Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti is underway.
According to a private TV channel, police’s an extensive search operation is underway in the twin cities.

CID, CIA, Anti-Car Lifting Cell, beat officers and patrolling police are on a lookout for all suspicious looking cars. The murderers used ‘Mehran’ in the drive by shooting of Shahbaz Bhatti.

In a high police officials meeting, it was decided that in order to recover the vehicle used by the Bhatti’s murderers, a survey of all ‘Mehran’ vehicles will be conducted the twin cities. Registration documents of all suspected vehicles will be verified. Any car without its documents will be seized by the police until the car and its documents are deemed clear the test by the Registration Office.
On the other hand, the security agencies have tightened the security in twin cities and during the search operation have held at least 28 suspects including a foreigner.
On the information of the terrorist attacks, the Interior Minister Rehman Malik has issued the orders restoring the all abolished security check posts in Islamabad.
