Pakistan differed with US on principles, not take any step against national interest

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani says Pakistan has “differed with the United States on principles and would not take any step against national interests.”
Talking to newsmen Monday after inaugurating International Seerat Conference, he said “we adopted a tough stance on the matter of (US national) Raymond Davis.” On stance of former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on diplomatic immunity to Davis, Gilani said “the government’s stance is more tough.”
On drone strikes in Pakistan, he said all diplomatic channels are being used to convince the US against these attacks as these are “counter-productive. “We are against drone strikes.”
On directions of Supreme Court to terminate services of DG FIA, he felt if all institutions work within ambit of the constitution there would be no problems.
Gilani said he will soon meet parliamentary leaders to chart out course of action to meet all challenges facing the country.  About MQM’s joining the cabinet, he said the question be directed to the party, but added it was one of government’s allies.
