Former senior minister Raja RiazAhmad has urged the chief minister Punjab to check corruption,inefficiency and irregularities in different departments.
Addressing a press conference at the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) district information secretary Mazhar Hussain Pahore, heexpressed grave concerns on the non-issuance of roll number slipsto thousands of Matric students and added the Lahore High Courthad to take notice of the situation to address grievances of students.
He urged the chief minister to improve law and order situation in Punjab otherwise they would demand his resignation. Raja Riaz, however, added that the party wanted to strengthendemocracy in the country and that is why the PPP was neither askingthe CM to take vote of confidence nor was intended to go for noconfidence move.
He urged the CM Punjab to honour the charter of democracyand avoid horse trading. He said the PPP was committed to play aconstructive role as opposition in Punjab.
He also expressed concerns over the law and order situation,and doctors' strike that was causing difficulties for patients. Rana Mujahid, Aziz Pitafi, Noor Mohammad Noor and other PPPworkers were also present.
