Forces kill 13 militants in Mingora

At least 13 militants were killed when security forces pounded their suspected hideouts in Kurram Agency and in skirmish with militants in Swat on Sunday.
According to the details, the security forces attacked militants’ hideouts in central Kurram Agency with gunship helicopters where 8 militants were killed in the ambush.
The forces also arrested 3 militants in lower Orakzai Agency during a search operation.
In another incident five militants in skirmish with the security forces near Mingora late on Saturday night killed.
Officials said the battle took place near Mingora when a group of insurgents associated with banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan attempted to enter Swat from bordering Dir district.
“The security troops stopped them at a checkpoint but the Taliban opened fire,” an official said. In retaliation by the army, he said, five of them were killed while many others wounded, adding that a soldier also suffered bullet injuries in the fight with militants.
He said heavy arms and immunizations were recovered from their possession.
