MQM boycotts Sindh assembly session, threatens quitting coalition

Sindh minister for Information Technology and senior leader of MQM Raza
Haroon sharply reacting on speech of provincial home minister Zulfiqar Mirza, categorically stated on
Monday that his party would part ways with PPP and quit the coalition if it supported the terrorists.
Flanked by other senior party leaders Faisal Sabzwari and Haidar Abbas Rizvi, he alleged that Zulfiqar
Mirza was patronizing the criminals belonging to People's Amn Committee.
Talking to media at party headquarters after a meeting of MQM Rabita Committee, Raza Haroon said they
have decided to boycott the session of Sindh Assembly from today and upcoming sessions of National
Assembly and the Senate.
The meeting of London and Karachi chapters was held to discuss the situation after the speech of Sindh
Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza.
Referring to the speech of Mirza he had made last night in Malir, MQM leader said that home minister
who is also vice president of PPP Sindh, openly announced patronizing the criminals declaring the PAC
members as 'our children' and soldiers of the PPP’ and also declared PAC as subsidiary of the PPP.
Demanding removal of ZulfiqarMirza from home ministry, he warned his party would quit the coalition if
the PPP didn’t take any action.
“MQM has never supported terrorists and will not do in future, however, it will continue extending
cooperation to democratic forces,” he said.
Earlier, the joint meeting of Rabita Committee of MQM Pakistan and London, condemned home minister’s
public support for Peoples Amn Committee and decided to demand his removal from home ministry.
The meeting was of the view that it has become very difficult to continue with coalition. “The MQM has
many times apprised the chief minister and other higher authorities but despite assurances no remedial
action has been taken so far.
“The MQM would now call on President and Prime Minister to apprise them of MQM decision,” the meeting
decided.
