Pakistan, UK to launch National Security Dialogue

Pakistan and the United Kingdom onMonday agreed to launch National Security Dialogue in the context ofenhanced Pakistan-UK partnership.
The understanding was reached here at a meeting between theNational Security Advisor of the United Kingdom Sir Peter Rickettswith Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar atthe Foreign Ministry.
They talks covered all issues of mutual concern, includingcounter-terrorism, Afghanistan and issues related to South Asia.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs underscored theimportance that we attach to consultations and cooperation with theUnited Kingdom on global and regional issues as well as to givingfurther momentum to the excellent cooperation that exists betweenthe two countries at the bilateral level.
The meeting was attended by British Chief of Defence Staff SirDavid Richards, British High Commissioner Adam Thompson andPakistan's Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir.
