Quetta police on Thursday arrested more than 250 suspects in a search operation conducted in sensitive areas of the city after the capital was hit by twin blasts on Wednesday.
According to police sources, Afghan refugees are also among those arrested.
Security is on high-alert at all entry and exit points of the city, besides the regular checking of vehicles.
Meanwhile the death toll in Wednesday’s two suicide bomb blasts has
reached 28; meanwhile the condition of 20 injured persons is critical.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Khan Raeesani chaired high
level meeting regarding the suicide bombings of Wednesday and said that
it was very difficult to stop the suicide attacks in the country,
adding that through better planning the loss could be decreased.
He directed the law and enforcement agencies to take all necessary steps for the safety and security of the masses.
On the other Governor Balochistan Nawaz Zulfiqar Ali Magsi after
visiting the suicide attacks place said that it was the responsibility
of the provincial government to maintain law and order situation in the
