Moratani under custody of Pak security agencies: Rehman Malik

Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik has said that Al-Qaeda Leader Younis Moratani is under custody of Pakistani security agencies, adding that his fate will be decided after the completion of legal interrogation and then would be handed over to other countries after reaching at some deal.

Talking to media in parliament house at the chamber of Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Mohammad Jamali the minister said that Afghan refugees in Pakistan are becoming Suicide bomber, adding that he would inform the UNHCR about the matter through written complain.
Malik while talking about Karachi situation said that he will inform parliamentary committee about the ongoing operation and will not keep anything secret in this regard.
About the news of resignation from the ministry, Rehman Malik said that he did not tender resignation to president. He said that he is patriot Pakistani and time will prove about his inclination.
Interior minister said that investigation is under process about target killers and their affiliations with political parties.
He said that an Afghan refugee was behind the Quetta suicide attack and head of suicide bomber proved his nationality.
He further said that law and order in Afghanistan is normal so refugees should go back to their home country. In this connection he is going to inform UNHCR through official correspondent.
About Karachi situation Malik said that law enforcement personnel arrested 42 target killers. Among them one target killers who killed minimum 10 and maximum 450 people.
Rehman Malik further said that talks with MQM are not against country and it’s a part of government’s reconciliation policy. He said that he did not release any criminal and not to do so in future. No one has authority to release someone even president and prime minister. If anyone has proof about someone’s release then he may provide it before court.
He said that law enforcement agencies are conducting surgical operation in Karachi and they have recovered huge cash of modern weapons.
About Shahbaz Taseer’s kidnapping issue, minister said that it’s provincial matter, adding that federal government is providing important secrets to Punjab government regarding the matter.
About the forced collection of skins, fitra and extortion, minister said that no one has permission to do so and this game must be stopped because extortion activity has turned into an institution.
Interior minister said that character assassination of anyone should not be carried out, adding that he did not present his resignation to president. He is committed to serve Pakistani and its nation.
About the changing of his portfolio, he said that if leadership wants to assign this responsibility to Babar Awan then he would welcome the move and he has not any reservations regarding the issue. He did his job well as interior minister and bringing truth before the nation.
Replying a question, the minister said that 44 persons are missing in Balochistan and investigations are underway in this connection. SANA
