PM commits Rs2 billion for Lowari tunnel project: Arbab

ISLAMABAD: Federal minister for communications, Arbab Alamgir Khan has announced that PM Yousaf Raza Gilani had promised to fund the Lowari tunnel project.

Presiding over a high level meeting, in the conference room of Communications ministry, the federal minister for Communications informed the participants that he had requested PM for funds worth Rs. 2 billion, out of which Pm had committed Rs.1.5 billion.
Informing the meeting that developmental projects for Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Province would also be funded to a tune of Rs.6.5 billion during the current fiscal year, he also highlighted the importance of Lowari tunnel, assuring residents of Chitral that current regime would strive its utmost to fulfill the visions of former and late PMs, Z. A Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
He cited current floods, rains and other calamities as making their inroads into National scenario, and paucity of funds was creating hurdles in relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The minister assured that the government was busy in keeping a spate of developmental projects in entire Country, while it prioritizes addressing the grievances of smaller Provinces, like Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. Online
