Army deployed in Chitral to halt terrorists’ attacks

CHITRAL: Army has been deployed for the first time in district Chitral, a hilly district of Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa and security forces are also being deployed in Pak-Afghan border areas in districts upper Dir and Lower Dir to halt militants attacks.

Talking to BBC, ISPR Director General Maj Gen Athar Abbas has also confirmed deployment of army. He told that some military contingents had been deployed in some areas of Pak-Afghan borders. However he did not provide further details on this count.
A senior government functionary told BBC that army personnel were coming to Chitral in the form of caravans and security forces in large number have arrived there.
He told these military contingents were being deployed in Pak-Afghan border area of Arondo to stop attacks of terrorists from inside Afghan soil. Online
