Abbottabad inquiry commission flies likely route of American helicopters during Abbottabad operation

ABBOTTABAD: The Inquiry Commission on Abbottabad Operation comprising of Justice Javed Iqbal, Former senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and President of the Commission, Abbas Khan, IG (R), Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, and Lt Gen (R) Nadeem Ahmed Members of the Commission visited Abbottabad on Tuesday and flew over the likely route adopted by American helicopters during Abbottabad operation.

The Commission landed at Kala Dhaka and also met notables of the area, besides interviewing persons having knowledge of American Helicopters landing in the area on night between 1st and 2nd May, 201 and also conducted extensive interview of the Civil Officers of the area and local people.
Later the Commission flew to Ghazi Aviation Air Base, Tarbela. The Commission met the base commander who gave detailed briefing. The Commission visited Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) and the Commandant of the Academy briefed the Commission about the events, following US Operation.
He also gave detailed account of the measures adopted on ground by the quick response force of PMA, local Police and other Security Agencies for rescue operation and cordoning of the area. Thereafter the Commission visited the compound allegedly housing Osama Bin Laden. The Commission was given briefing about configuration of the compound.
The Commission also spent about two hours, visited each and every part of the compound to have an in-depth understanding of its layout.
