5 kids, driver killed, 19 injured in Peshawar bus attack

PESHAWAR: At least five students and a driver were killed and several others injured in an attack on a school bus near Peshawar’s Matni By-pass , officials said on Tuesday.

According to police, this incident happened near Matni bypass here when unidentified miscreants ambushed the bus carrying 40 school children back to their homes, which resulted in deaths of four young students and driver; while and managing to decamp after committing the heinous crime.
Among those killed included the 20-year old first year student Muhammad Farooq s/o Awal Shah, r/o Matni and 30-year old driver Niaz Muneer s/o Gul Ameer.
The 19 injured include, Murad s/o Mesho Khan, Ameer s/o Naseer, Hafezullah s/o Syed Jan, Shoaib s/o Muhammad Sadiq, Sadiq, Imran s/o Bashir, Ameer Nawaz , s/o Mir Dad, Murtaza s/o Zulfiqar, Muhamamd Farooq s/o Rahmat Shah, Ali s/o Ishaq, Hazrat Uns, s/o Qaisar Khan, Farhad Shah s/o Syed Rahim, Zar Shah s/o Shaheen, Johar s/o Musa Khan, Naeem Shah s/o Wali Shah, Abdul Karim s/o Muhammad, Sabir s/o Syed Rahim Shah, Muhammad Omar s/o Awal Shah, and Ejaz Ahmad s/o Ahmad. The injured were immediately shifted to Lady Reading hospital, where one student succumbed to his injuries, while the Provincial government has implemented emergency at the Lady Reading hospital to ensure best possible treatment to the injured.
Police rushed to the scene and blocked the area, collected evidences and started search operation to find out the culprits. SSP operations has informed that culprits opened fire on school van from two sides, and suspects were being grilled for any clues. Online
