ISLAMABAD: ANP has once again demanded of the government to
investigate three serious allegations leveled by the former Sindh Home
Minister Zulfiqar Mirza against MQM.
The demand regarding three
vital allegations was forwarded by Awami National Party Information
Secretary Senator Zahid Khan while addressing a protest rally organized
by ANP’s Islamabad , Rawalpindi and Taxilla Chapters here on Tuesday in
front of the National Press Club.
He said that the allegations
like letter by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain to the then UK Premier Blair
against ISI, his conspiracy in collusion with UK and US to break up
Pakistan, and his allegedly saying that he would drive out Pakhtuns
from Karachi or kill them.
He said that having differences with
Pak army or ISI is something else as all segments of the country is
like a family and home but conspiring against the establishment in
collusion with foreigners is an act of treason.
“And t when the
MQM chief says that UK and US is planning to destroy Pakistan then he
should quit citizenship of the Great Britain. Why is he sitting there?”
he asked.
However, Khan made it clear that he is stressing for
impartial enquiry into the blames but such blames can be baseless or
proved right. “But impartial enquiry is essential as we can no more
tolerate incidents like splitting Pakistan as it happened in 1971.
Today we have time and we should be careful and aware of such
conspiracies,” the ANP leader further said.
Commenting on
assassination of, Sher Muhammad Khan, ANP leader in Lower Dir in a
blast on Tuesday, he said that the slaughtered leader never became
violent or had enmity with anyone but he was killed and people should
understand that the party loves Pakistan and wants to save it therefore
terrorists are targeting it.
He said that ANP stand up against
those who wanted to destroy Pakistan, its economy and economic hub, so
the enemy of the country started to target it.
“We are
followers of Bacha Khan who though us to be non-violent and never
respond to violence. So why are we targeted when we are declaring peace
with all,” Zahid Khan said.
Khan said that there are some
people behind violence and whosoever they may be, the government should
expose them and tell the truth to the nation, who would stand by truth.
Concealing something is not a solution, he said.
Senator Khan
said that people were told lies in the last 63 years and the nation is
bearing brunt of the wrong policies of establishment as economy of the
country was destroyed and terrorism is in vogue. Had policies were kept
in right direction in the past, situation would have been different
today, he pointed out.
Central Vice President of ANP Bushra
Gohar, ANP president for Rawalpindi district, ANP President for
Islamabad district and its President for Taxila region and a workers of
the party of the said districts participated in the protest rally that
warned MQM of keeping itself aloof from blaming central leadership of
the party. Online
