Salim Shahzad Inquiry Commission summons senior journalists

LAHORE: Salim Shahzad Inquiry Commission has summoned leading media persons in Islamabad on July 9 besides ordering FIA to decode Salim Shahzad E-mail account before it.

Salim Shahzad inquiry commission met here Wednesday in Supreme Court (SC) Lahore Registry under apex court Judge Nisar Saqib. Meeting was attended by commission members IG Islamabad Binyamin, IG Punjab Javed Iqbal, Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Agha Rafiq, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Pervez Shaukat and federal information secretary Azmat Usman.
Giving the briefing to media men later information secretary Azmat Usman told it was decided in the meeting that noted media men including Hamid Mir, Naseem Zohra, Hamid Haroon, Absar Alam Omar Cheema, Imtiaz Alam, Zafar Sheikh, Talat Hussain, CR Shamsi, Najam Sethi, Mati Ullah and others be summoned and their statements would be recorded with reference to Salim Shahzad murder case.
He told that advertisement was given by the commission in newspapers about providing of information in connection with Salim Shahzad murder case but it proved unproductive, as only 2 persons had contacted commission.
To a question he told that Salim Shahzad mobile phone record is safe. Next meeting of the omission would take place in Islamabad on July, 9, he stated. Online
