KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has declared the
financial year 2011-2012 as a year of Development for Sindh Province.
He directed the Planning & Development Department and Finance
Department and other relevant departments and authorities to initiate
accordingly and do the needful in this regard.
After holding
meetings with Additional Chief Secretary (P&D), Secretary Finance
Sindh, Advisor to C.M for Investment and Secretary Sindh Board of
Investment at CM House, he said that last year, the funds of
development were curtailed and diverted towards rehabilitation and
reconstruction of flood affected areas and people of province, who had
suffered a lot due to heavy floods.
The CM Sindh maintained
that Almighty Allah has bestowed numerous resources and blessings to
Sindh province, and it is now responsibility of provincial government,
elected representatives and officers concerned to pay due attention
towards process of development so as to achieve progress and prosperity
everywhere. He said that the people of Sindh have suffered a lot in the
past, but the present government under vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto
and able guidance & leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari is
striving very hard to solve the problems of masses under PPP manifesto
and as such development schemes have been and are being launched to
achieve maximum results for development.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah
directed the officers concerned to accelerate and speedup the
development projects in every nook and corner of the province, for
which funds will be released without any delay. He said that it has
been decided to release 50% funds for development schemes during the
