Senor Journalists’ have said that the responsible reporting in investigative journalism
is an important aspect of the reporting, adding that through protecting
their right of expression in fact they save the right of information of
people.
This was said by senior journalists during a seminar organized by “individual land” here on Wednesday in a local hotel.
Speaking in the seminar senior journalist Zegham Khan said that the
purpose of investigative journalism is to dig out the hiding facts for
the interest of common people and the country.
“In Pakistan investigative journalist is facing a lot of
difficulties including life threats. But this is the duty of a
journalist to unearth the facts for the nation” he said.
He said that although journalists are facing difficulties but they
should protect their right of expression because when they would
protect their right of expression it means they are saving the common
people’s right of information.
He said that if journalists would show unity they will reduce the
security threats, which they face while performing their duties, adding
that the training institutions for investigative journalists are very
necessary.
Tahir Khan a senior journalist said that it is duty of a journalist
to report the reality in front of masses, adding that the journalist
should not care any pressure from any side.
He said that to dig out the hidden reality is a real investigative
journalism and to highlight the new aspects of published news is also
an investigative journalism. SANA
