Pak-US vow to continue fight against terrorism

Pakistan and United States have agreed to continue fight against terrorisms; meanwhile both countries agreed to, overcome the smuggling of detonated materials and strengthening the capabilities of law enforcement agencies including different issues.

One day strategic dialogues between US and Pakistan were held at foreign ministry Islamabad on Tuesday. Detailed discussion regarding the steps taken to eliminate the terrorism
Interior Minister Rehman Malik and US Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law, William Brownfield briefed the media after the one day strategic dialogue between the two countries.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that resuming strategic dialogues with US is a good omen, adding that both countries discussed about elimination of narcotics and landmines.
He said that the world is well informed about the disadvantages of landmines. The terrorist used fertilizer for making landmines that’s why Pakistan banned the export of fertilizers to Afghanistan.
He said that smuggling of narcotics played a major part in promoting terrorism while foreign hands are involved in the terrorist activities in Pakistan, adding that 11 thousand people were killed, 79 bridges and 231 railway tracks were destroyed with landmines.
He said that agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan as Pakistan is an agriculture based country, adding that explosive material was smuggled from Afghanistan due to which the export would be banned and the security officials along Pak-Afghan boarder would be alerted.
US Assistant Secretary of State William Brownfield said that it is our first priority to save the human lives whether they would be from Pakistan, Afghanistan or US, adding that the US would continue to support Pakistan in war against terrorism.
He said that the representatives from five different fields were took part in the dialogue process.
According a private TV channel The Federal Interior Minister clearly informed the US representatives that war again terror is not only Pakistan’s war; the whole world is facing the challenge of war on terror.
American experts would come to Pakistan to train the security forces for enhancing their capabilities in war against terrorism.
Answering to a question regarding the issues of visa policy between Pakistan and US Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the issues have been settled while US Assistant Secretary of State said that Pakistan is a sovereign state and US Cannot dictate Pakistan for issuing visas. SANA
