Rain related incidents claim eight lives in twin cities

At least eight persons were killed and several others injured and walls of many houses damaged and low lying areas of the Rawalpindi have submerged into water of the rain.

The alarm bells along with the Nullah Leh were rung due to the high flood and army has been called for the rescue activities.
Rawalpindi, Islamabad and the upper parts of the country receiving intermittent mon soon rains.
The low lying areas of Rawalpindi are submerging in water while there is threat of floods in Nullah Lai. The water level at Katarian has risen to fourteen and a half feet.
According to the flood control centre the intensity of rain is subsiding while blockade on some places in the flow of water has been removed which is reducing the water level.
According to the Meteorological Office 117 milimeters rain has been recorded in Islamabad and 65.1 milimeter in Rawalpindi.
The water level at Rawal Dam has reached to the danger level and its spillways have been opened.
The Met Office has forecast more rains in Islamabad and other parts of the country in next 24 hours.

In Rawalpindi water level in Nullah Leh is constantly increasing following heavy rains in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The administration is sounding alarms to warn the nearby people to shift quickly to the safer places. The Rescue teams are on high alert to shift the people to safer places.
Meanwhile a house caved in, in Sihala police stations precinct on Monday killing five children and their mother on the spot. 
According to the sources the roof of the house of Altaf Hussain, who is the resident of Kashmir collapsed at the wee hours of Monday resulting in the deaths of his five children and wife on the spot.
Meanwhile he after collected the dead bodies moved towards Kashmir for burial.
Meanwhile police after receiving the information reached the spot and has started investigations into the matter.
On the other hand two persons including a youth and child were drowned in the Nullah Leh and their bodies were recovered from Jhanda Chechi Bridge and Moti Mehl respectively. SANA
