Elements blocking court orders will be sent to jail first and then will be heard: SC

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has issued orders for restoration of previous investigation team in Hajj corruption case and maintained those found hampering court’s orders will be sent to jail first and then they will be heard.

A 6-member SC larger bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took up the case for hearing Monday.
The court expressed concern over absence of DG FIA during the hearing. The court also voiced displeasure over violation of its orders regarding initiation of action against investigation officer Javed Bokhari. Court said orders were issued for taking action in 4 weeks but nothing had been done despite lapse of 2 months.
CJP remarked it seemed as if former establishment secretary Rauf Chaudhry would have to be sent to jail “It seemed from persistent non compliance of court’s orders that officers don’t care for SC orders. Now those who don’t comply with orders of court will be sent to jail first and then they will be heard. Now we will see who don’t obey the court’s orders”, CJP remarked.
Regarding revival of previous investigation team in Hajj corruption case the court ordered notification about its restoration be issued today.
The court summoned secretary establishment and DG FIA and adjourned the hearing of the case. Online
