President
Asif Zardari on Tuesday felicitated Hina Rabbani Khar on her elevation
as Foreign Minister and expressed the hope that the nation would be
able to benefit from her creative potential in the task of national
development.
The
President in a message, soon after his return from Kabul said that the
elevation of Ms Khar as a full minister was a tribute to her abilities. “It is also a demonstration of the government’s commitment to bring women into the mainstream of national life,” he said. “The
elevation will also send positive signals about the soft image of
Pakistan,” the President said and wished her success in fulfilling the
responsibilities that lie on her shoulders, Spokesperson to the
President Farhatullah Babar quoted the President as saying in the
message. Ms Khar earlier took oath of her office as Pakistan’s first woman Foreign Minister. APP
