Letter issued to respective company to seek access to e-mail record of Salim Shahzad

ISLAMABAD: Letter has been issued to respective company to seek access to e-mail record of deceased journalist Salim Shahzad.

Salim Shahzad Commission met here Tuesday under Justice Saqib Nisar in Supreme Court.
Senior journalists, IG Punjab and DIG Islamabad appeared before the commission. Hamid Mir and Zafar Sheikh recorded their written statements. Hamid Mir presented CD containing his statement and evidence regarding killing of Salim Shahzad.
Zafar Sheikh who is stated to be close associate of late Salim Shahzad apprised the commission of the professional activities and working style of murdered journalist.
Shafiq, sub inspector of Margalla police presented the record while the video footage and other record presented by National High Way Authority were also reviewed.
Adjourning the proceedings till 1300 hrs today, the commission has summoned Shafiq and Raja who had extracted body of Salim Shahzad from the canal.
Expressing their ignorance about the knowledge of his mobile phone, lap tap and pass word of e-mail, family members of Salim Shahzad told that his mobile phone and lap tap were not being found nor they were having pass word of e-mail.
Commission was told that the concerned company had been sent letter and e-mail through foreign ministry so that access could be made to data of Salim Shahzad.
Noted journalists, Najam Sethi, Nasim Zohra, Mehr Bokhari and Tahir Ali have also been directed by the commission to record their statements in writing. Online
