Govt to seek one-month time more from SC for appointment of chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD: Government has decided to seek one month time from Supreme Court (SC) in connection with appointment of chairman NAB. Another appeal will soon be filed by federation with reference to induction of Deedar Hussain Shah as chairman NAB while one appeal is already pending hearing in apex court.

Through the new appeal plea SC will be requested to hear the review petition before commencement of process of appointment of chairman NAB.
Babar Awan said that federation counsel and federal government don’t want to create ambiguity in judicial process. Only 3 days are left more in implementation of decision of SC with regard to appointment of chairman NAB. Federal government has requested that court’s orders be suspended whereby directives were issued for appointment of chairman NAB within one month. Review petition is pending hearing. Court is requested to hear it and another appeal would soon be filed in this respect. Therefore, court is prayed to extend the period for one month more for induction of chairman NAB. Online
