Bring back natural beauty of Murree, Nawaz asks CM Punjab

MURREE: The leader of PML (N) Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that the revival of natural beauty of Murree and provision of all basic amenities here has become necessary to attract the tourists at historical hill resort.

This he said during a meeting which was held here on Tuesday. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif , MNA Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Advisor to CM Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Secretary Environment Punjab, DG Wildlife, Commissioner Rawalpindi division Zahid Saeed and other high officials also attended the meeting.
He said that the last government has ruined natural environment, recreational points and beauty of Murree by allowing impetuous constructions of tall buildings here only to give benefit to some blue eyed persons.
On the occasion Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that the development of Murree for promotion of tourism is on the cards of Punjab government . He said that during last tenure of PML (N) lot of development projects were completed at Murree including construction of roads, renovation of parks and provisional of facilities to the local residents as well as to the tourists.
But when the government of PML (N) was toppled in 1999, the people at helm of affairs did not care Murree and due to not maintaining the plight of the hill station became miserable . People for their personal gains construed illegal buildings. A mushroom growth of hotels here imbalanced the natural atmosphere .He said that those corrupt official of TMA Murree which were responsible for the illicit construction were removed from the service.
He said that revamping of nine important roads of Murree has been entered in final stages. Similarly the old Murree Road is also under construction form 17 Miles to Murree. Likewise at 13 miles the weigh bridge would also be made to weight the loads of trucks.
He said that to transform the hilly point vehicle free a project of chair lift and soft wheel train service is also in the pipeline as spadework has been started for the project. Online
