Islamabad: As part of President Barack Obama’s effort to smoothen
relationship with Islamabad following the killing of Osama bin Laden in
Abbottabad, special US representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Mark
Grossman has arrived Pakistan late Wednesday.
This was second
visit of Grossman to Islamabad in less than a month where he would meet
Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership to ease the tension between
Washington and Islamabad after US unilateral operation to kill Al-Qaeda
chief deep inside Pakistan.
Besides Pakistan, Grossman would
also travel to Afghanistan and four Central Asian nations of
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan during his tour of
Central Asia.
According to US state department, Grossman would
be meet senior government officials in each nation and reaffirm the
Af-Pak policy of the secretary of state Hillary Clinton. Online
