Pakistan initiates four probes into OBL’s presence in Abbottabad: Kerry

WASHINGTON : American Senator John Kerry has said that Pakistan has launched four separate probes into Osama bin Laden’s life and death on Pakistani soil, adding that Pakistan’s intelligence chief has promised to inform America about Osama presence in Pakistan if it turns out someone in his agency knew bin Laden was there.

Talking to media persons after the briefing to Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, he said that ISI Chief Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha promised to inform the Americans about all investigations and if someone at their lower level knew it, they will find out.
He said that during his meetings with different Pakistani leadership he did not get any clue that they were aware about the Osama bin Laden’s presence in Pakistan.
Replying a question, he said that operations against militants in Pakistan would be helpful in the restoration of stability in Afghanistan, adding that it is important for American’s but it cannot be discussed openly.
He said that different affairs would be discussed in the upcoming dialogue between Pakistan and America, adding that about the visit of Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton would be decided. He said that Pakistani leadership accepted their mistakes and assured that Pakistan would investigate about the responsible persons.
He said that many steps of Pakistan to eliminate terrorism are common to America, adding that they are important for America but cannot be shared with everyone. He said that Pakistan is taking steps to curb the militancy from the country and for stability of Afghanistan. SANA
