ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister, Gilgit-Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah has
informed Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani that Satpara Dam with
17 MW power generation capacity will be ready in October this year as
97% civil work and installation of machinery had been completed.
He
called on the Prime Minister Gilani on Wednesday at the PM House.
During the meeting he expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for
giving Gilgit and Skardu big cities status, which would bring new phase
of development in these cities at par with other big cities of the
country.
The Chief Minister requested Prime Minister Gilani to
inaugurate Satpara Dam when it is completed. The Prime Minister
accepted his invitation. In addition to this he would also address the
Legislative Assembly and preside over a meeting of the Gilgit-Baltistan
cabinet.
On the occasion he also presented a cheque of Rs five
million to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani for the PM’s Flood
Relief Fund. Online
