General Officer Commanding Swat Maj Gen Javed Iqbal injured in firing incident

SWAT/ISLAMABAD: General Officer Commanding (GOC) Swat Maj Gen Javed Iqbal has been injured in the incident of firing upon his helicopter and he has been shifted to military hospital Rawalpindi.

Military sources revealed that the incident of firing on his helicopter took place at 1130 hrs on Wednesday near Nusrat Darra in Swat He was undertaking aerial visit of Swat during the conduct of his duty.
Sources told two bullets were fired upon his helicopter. One among them whizzed past the right leg of Maj Gen Javed Iqbal and he suffered minor injuries.
Sources disclosed to Online that Maj Gen Javed Iqbal was taken to Rawalpindi in the same helicopter immediately after the incident where his medical check up was carried out in military hospital.
Sources revealed GOC was in better condition and he remained secure from a major accident fortunately.
Sources told that army had started investigation into firing on the helicopter. Online
