LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said there
will be good news soon about the Shahbaz Taseer abduction case and that
the investigation team had informed him about who the abductors were.
Speaking
to a private TV channel, the Provincial Law Minister said that
disclosing the details of the kidnappers at present could jeopardize
Taseer’s life. It is vital to mention here the investigation team
comprises of officials from Inter Services Intelligence (ISI),
Intelligence bureau (IB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Punjab
Police.
Furthermore, Rana said that no one has contacted
Taseer’s family or the government for ransom. Although, earlier he had
claimed that Taseer was kidnapped for ransom.
Taseer, who was
abducted on August 26 from the Gulberg area of Lahore while he was on
his way to the office by at least three armed men in an SUV, has yet to
be recovered. Online
