JOHANNESBURG: Renowned Qawwal Maqbool Ahmed Sabri passed away in
South Africa on Wednesday. He had a cardiac problem since the last two
years.
According to media reports, he was admitted to the hospital in Johannesburg for the last few days
Speaking
to private TV channel, his nephew Amjad Sabri said his uncle Maqbool
was a heart patient and was receiving treatment in South Africa. He
further stated that his uncle was like a father to him and the family
was grief stricken when they heard the news.

He
learnt music from his father and formed a Qawwali group at the age of
eleven which came to be known as the Sabri Brothers. Their first
