ISLAMABD: Rawalpindi Islamabad Sports Journalists Association
(RISJA) terminated eight council members’ basic RISJA membership for
the discipline violation as well as attempting to make a parallel body.
This was decided in RISJA executive body and scrutiny committee
meeting headed by RISJA president Abdul Jabbar Faisal which attended by
RISJA chairman Abdul Mohi Shah, chairman disciplinary committee Shams
Pervaiz, Shahryar Khan, Nasir Naqvi, Abid Zahoor Malik, Faheem Anwer
Khan, Afzal Javed, Zahid Yaqoob Khawaja, Haroon Siddiqi, Muhammad
Malik, Zubair Manzoor and Ayaz Akbar.
According to press
release, twelve associate membership and twenty new council membership
have been given during the meeting and the council members are: Hasan
Nasir (SAMAA TV), Sahfique Raja (APP), David Vincent (Dateline
Islamabad), Arif Khan (INP), Zeeshan Qayyum (PTV), Mohsin Ali (The
Nation), Sardar Ahsan (Nawai-e-Waqt), Farooq Ahmed (The News), Awais
Yousaf Zai (GEO), Adnan Iftikhar (PPI), Abbas Alam (Jang), Rizwan Khan
(Rohi TV), Mehmood-ul-Hassan (Daily Mail), Ijaz Anjum (Ausaf), , Waqas
Saeed (Online) Shahid Farooq (APP), Abdul Gaffar Khan (Jammu-e-
Kashmir), Obaid ul Rehman (NNI) and Irfan Saddozai (Waqt TV).
The
house also decided to terminate the basic RISJA membership of
following: Shakeel Awan (Jang), Naseeb Elahi (APP), Aqeel Anjum
(Azkar), Ashgar Ali Mubarik (Jang), Rahim Shah (Khyber TV), Arshad
Choudhry (Pakistan Observer), Faisal Sahi (Royal TV) and Zulfiqar Baig
(Daily Express). The decision has been made by disciplinary committee
headed by senior sports journalist Shamas Perviaz and seconded by
scrutiny committee head by Shahryar Khan. Online
