KARACHI: Investigations over recent bombing of SSP, CID, Chaudhry
Aslam’s home are underway, with fresh clues coming to the
investigators.
Sources have informed that various investigation
teams are busy investigating the incident, which occurred on Monday
morning at phase VIII of DEFENSE Housing Society.
The special
investigation group of FIA has informed in its initial written
statement that the explosion was caused by a planted device, as unknown
miscreants managed to flee after parking the explosive laden vehicle
near the residence of SSP-CID; which was later blown away by remote
control device.
The report also cites that immediately after
the explosion, 2 suspicious persons including a foreigner were observed
at the site of explosion. Law enforcement authorities have received the
footage of these people, which clearly show some persons photographing
the site, while seated in a bulletproof vehicle, which even circled the
site thrice.
FIA investigation team has expressed its deep
suspicions about the presence of this suspicious vehicle at site well
before the arrival of law enforcement agencies.
Earlier the
police had declared the recent attack as a suicide bombing, while
during its briefing to Federal Interior Minister, FIA declared it was a
remote controlled blast.
The ongoing investigations also
affirmed the use of 300Kg of explosives, while DNA tests were being
carried out on a severed hand found from the site of the incident. Online
