Army officer arrested in railway compartment theft

RAWALPINDI: Major Ayub has been arrested in boggy theft scandal and investigation have been started against him.

As per media report Military Intelligence (MI) investigated the matter after the report of involvement of Major Ayub in Railway boggy stealing scandal came to light . Maj Ayub was arrested after more investigations were made.
MI was assigned to investigate the matter in pursuance of directives issued by General Head Quarters (GHQ).
The statement issued by ISPR has also confirmed the reports regarding arrest of Maj Ayub saying investigations against the major are underway and stern action will be initiated against him if the charges prove against him.
Meanwhile drop scene of stolen railway boggy from Lahore Railway Station has occurred and railway police has recovered Rs 1800000 which were obtained by accused persons out of sale of copper. Letter has also been written to the concerned authorities in connection with arrest of officer of intelligence agency.
On August, 4 copper valuing Rs 240000 was loaded in boggy of freight train at Raiwind and it was to be transported to store located at Mughal Pura Lahore. This boggy was stolen from Lahore Railway station on August, 12 and it reached Kharian on August, 15.
Railway police registered case on September, 6 after the reports made way in media. Boggy was recovered from Kharian on September, 7. Railway police took into its custody, station master of Kharian Muhammad Zaman and goods booking clerk Muhammad Ramzan. The other 3 accused persons were also arrested being pointed out by station master and booking clerk of Kharian station. Some quantity of copper and money has also been recovered from them.
IG Railway told that Rs 600000 were in the possession of co-accused officer of intelligence agency and this amount has yet to be recovered. Online
