Proclaimed Aqeel finally surrendered

ISLAMABAD: After declared a proclaimed offender by the civil court, PML-N member National Assembly Anjum Aqeel on Saturday surrendered and presented himself at Kohsar police station here in federal capital.
According to media reports,
Anjum Aqeel presented Kohsar police station and gave arrestment to Islamabad police on late Saturday, however Inspector General Banyamin said that N-League leader was taken under arrest while he was going for secret press conference.
Earlier, PML-N MNA has been declared a proclaimed offender by the civil court of Islamabad.
Thirty-two suspects were arrested in complicity in helping Anjum Aqeel to escape from jail have been handed over to the police on remand by the anti-terrorism court. These 32 suspects were arrested for forcibly helping Aqeel escape from Shalimar Police Station on late Friday. Those apprehended included Aqeel’s brother-in-law, SP Dr. Nadeem and SHO Fayyaz Tanoli. The accused were presented in the ATC, Rawalpindi in strict security following the legal procedures by the police. The eleven suspected culprits were given in the police custody after the court approved their physical remand while twenty-one were sent to Adiala jail after judicial remand was given. Online
