Defence, foreign ministries to give briefing to parliamentary committee on national security

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of defence and ministry of foreign affairs will give detailed briefing to parliamentary committee on national security on the issues including prevention of drone attacks, review of counter terrorism policies and Shamsi air base on Monday.

Parliamentary committee sources told Online Saturday committee secretariat has summoned defence minister Ahmad Mukhtar, state minister for foreign affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, Defence secretary Athar Ali Khan and foreign secretary Suleman Bashir. Notices have been issued to them in this respect.
A 17-member parliamentary committee review in details the national security situation. Sources told ministry of defence anda ministry of foreign affaris have been directed to apprise the committee about the current situation in regard to implementation of resolutions adopted in closed door meetings of joint session of parliament.
Chairman committee senator Raza Rabbani has convened the meeting on insistence of members of the committee. Online
