ISLAMABAD: Due to engagement in war against terrorism, Pakistan army
has excused sending it’s personal to Saudi Arabia as Khudam-ul-Hujaj,
sources said on Saturday.
Source told Online that Ministry of
Religious Affairs had asked the armed forces to send the names of 230
personnel for sending Saudi Arabia to serve the pilgrims during the
2011 Hajj. However Pakistan Army rejected the request saying that
troops were busy in various operations against terrorists on western
border of the country.
After this refusal, the ministry managed
alternate arrangement and asked federal and provincial departments to
provide their members of staff to serve the pilgrims for this season,
sources told Online.
Sources also said that for the first time, the ministry has haired 900 Saudi locals to look after the pilgrims. Online
