Islamabad: Defense Ministry and Pakistan Navy will formally present
detailed and methodical investigation report on PNS Mehran fiasco in
National Assembly Defense Committee on Wednesday (today).
The
important meeting of the defense committee will be held at the
Parliament House under Chairperson Dr Azra Afzal today in which option
of four point agenda will be mulled.
The audacious attack on
the Mehran base had left 10 security personnel dead, 15 others wounded
and two PC-3 Orion aircraft destroyed. It took more than 15 hours for
commandos and security personnel to regain control of the facility.
Defense Committee had apologized to disclose any matter to the Members relating to the investigation prior to the meeting.
During
the meeting, the report of the investigation committee will be
in-camera while matter on DHA will be kept open for the Media; however
it has been told that when the report will be presented in the NA
Defense Committee, Media will not be allowed to sit in the Committee. Online
